REMOVAL:<br />

STEERING SPINDLE SUPPORT<br />

adjusting plug and ball seat.<br />

2. Remove tie rod ends (13) from steering center arm (11)<br />

using tool J-2781.<br />

Proceed as outlined in "Steering Spindle Removal", items<br />

1 to 15, inclusive.<br />

INSTALLATION:<br />

NOTE: To install, reverse procedure of removal.<br />

REMOVAL:<br />

STEERING ARM<br />

1. Remove the cotter pin; castellated nut and washer from<br />

steering arm (14), Figure 2.<br />

42. Center steering arm bracket<br />

43. Tie rod clamp<br />

3. Remove the 3 bolts attaching the center steering arm<br />

bracket (42) to the No. 2 crossmember, Figure 16.<br />

4. Remove the center pivot nut (41) and remove the steering<br />

center arm and pivot as an assembly.<br />

2. Remove tie rod cotter pin and castellated nut and rubber<br />

dust cover, and remove the tie rod using tool T-2781,<br />

Figure 15.<br />

3. Remove steering arm using tool J-1372.<br />

NOTE: To install, reverse procedure of removal.<br />

Tighten the steering arm nut with a torsion wrench to 110<br />

to 120 foot pounds.<br />

REMOVAL:<br />

CENTER STEERING ARM<br />

1. Remove draglink (15), Figure 2 at front by backing off<br />
