H. Bearing Retainer Gasket<br />

M. Through Bolts<br />

CAUTION: The engine MUST NOT be run for more than a<br />

few seconds while making the above test, due to the danger of<br />

burning out the generator.<br />

NOTE: If the above test is made with a resistor type tester, the<br />

resistance knob must be turned to the out position.<br />

5. If generator fails to build up, remove generator for overhaul.<br />

DISASSEMBLY:<br />

1. Remove cover band<br />

N. Brush Spring<br />

O. Brush<br />

P. Brush Lead<br />

Q. Commutator End Head<br />

R. Armature<br />

S. Frame<br />

T. Snap Ring Felt Washer<br />

V, Bearing Retainer Screw<br />

W. Drive End Head<br />

X. Lockwasher<br />

Y. Armature Shaft Nut<br />

Z. Drive Pulley<br />

2. Disconnect brush leads and remove brushes.<br />

3. Remove through bolts and remove commtator end head.<br />

4. Remove armature and drive head. (If necessary, tap drive<br />

head end lightly with a soft hammer.)<br />

5. Remove shaft nut and lockwasher.
