5. Remove adjusting screw (8).<br />

6. Disconnect adjusting screw spring (9).<br />

7. Thoroughly clean away all traces of rust and apply a<br />

coating of "Bendix Lubriplate" to the shoe ramps on the<br />

backing plates, shoe ends and all other frictional points.<br />

T o install shoes, reverse procedure of disasse m b 1 y.<br />

Position anchor pin as described in "Major Brake Adjustment",<br />

DISASSEMBLING:<br />

FRONT BRAKE<br />

Whenever servicing the mechanical section of the brakes,<br />

such as replacing springs or shoes, and it is not necessary to<br />

disturb the wheel cylinders; proceed as follows:<br />

1. Install Wheel Cylinder Clamp KMO-145 on wheel<br />

cylinders as shown in Figure 7 to prevent the piston<br />

seals being forced out of position.<br />

2. Remove the brake shoe to anchor pin springs (3) and (5).<br />

3. Press in and turn hold down spring cups (6) and remove<br />

cups, springs and pins on both shoes.<br />

4. Remove shoes.<br />
