The D-channel signaling feature expands the domain of DCS networks by supporting<br />

configurations that include public network ISDN facilities utilizing network services<br />

including Software Defined <strong>Network</strong> (SDN). By eliminating the need <strong>for</strong> dedicated<br />

private line facilities, this feature allows geographically dispersed DCS networks to<br />

be cost effective. Figure 6 shows a 3-node network.<br />
