Confirming the number of available ports<br />

To confirm that all ports allowed under your license are available, start at the<br />

Windows NT desktop:<br />

1 Double-click the Configuration Manager icon.<br />

IP Trunk Configuration Manager appears.<br />

2 Click the Telephony tab.<br />

The Telephony property page appears.<br />

3 Click Show All Ports.<br />

Verify that the number of enabled port matches the maximum your license allows.<br />

If not, contact your Lucent representative.<br />

4 Click OK to close Configuration Manager.<br />

NT administration procedures<br />

The following procedures must be per<strong>for</strong>med on the NT server to administer IP Trunks.<br />

Outgoing calls<br />

To administer routing <strong>for</strong> outgoing (originating) calls, start at the Windows NT<br />

desktop:<br />

1 Double-click the Configuration Manager icon.<br />

IP Trunk Configuration Manager appears.<br />

2 Click the Telephony tab.<br />

The Telephony property page appears.<br />

3 In the Maximum Digits to be collected box, type the number of digits that the<br />

switch will <strong>for</strong>ward to the IP Trunk software.<br />

The Maximum Digits to be collected field entry will be determined by the type of<br />

dialing, or types of dialing that will be per<strong>for</strong>med using IP Trunking. Refer to the<br />

Dial/Routing Plan Worksheets, or if extension dialing is used, this field would be<br />

the extension length in the DEFINITY private network.<br />

! CAUTION:<br />

Set this field no higher than the maximum length of the digit string the switch<br />

sends. Otherwise, the IP Trunk application waits several seconds <strong>for</strong><br />

additional digits and users experience delays.<br />

4 Click the Dial/Routing Plan tab.<br />
