Backing up configuration manager<br />

Lucent re<strong>com</strong>mends you per<strong>for</strong>m a backup to the Personal Computer Memory Card<br />

International Association (PCMCIA) flash disk whenever you make a change in the<br />

configuration manager. Keep the flash disk in a safe place so you can use the backup<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation if your MAPD circuit pack fails or if you want to restore to a previous<br />

known state.<br />

Be<strong>for</strong>e you begin<br />

Instructions<br />

Be sure your backup PCMCIA flash disk is inserted in the MAPD circuit pack.<br />

To per<strong>for</strong>m a backup, begin at the Windows NT desktop:<br />

1 Double-click the IP Trunk Backup Restore icon.<br />

The IP Trunk Backup/Restore Utility screen appears.<br />

2 In the IP Trunk Backup/Restore Utility dialog screen, click Files, Backup.<br />

The IP trunk Backup screen appears.<br />

3 In the IP Trunk Backup screen, click on the BACKUP button.<br />

4 Remove the flash disk and store in a safe place.<br />

Instructions<br />

1 Remove the defective MAPD circuit pack from the switch.<br />

2 Install the replacement MAPD circuit pack in the switch.<br />

3 Insert the backup PCMCIA flash disk into the MAPD circuit pack.<br />

To per<strong>for</strong>m a restore, begin at the Windows NT desktop:<br />

1 Double-click the IP Trunk Backup Restore icon.<br />

The IP Trunk Backup/Restore Utility screen appears.<br />

2 In the IP Trunk Backup/Restore Utility dialog screen, click Files, Restore.<br />

The IP trunk Backup screen appears.<br />

3 In the IP Trunk Backup screen, click on the RESTORE button.<br />
