Fault – Cause – Remedy<br />

Message Cause Remedy<br />

Flow Sensor? !!! Flow sensor not fully inserted in rubber lip<br />

of expiration valve.<br />

Hose kinked !! The pressure at the inspiratory port is<br />

greater than 30 mbar, e.g. due to a kinked<br />

or blocked hose, or a blocked patient<br />

mask.<br />

High frequency !!! Patient is breathing at a high spontaneous<br />

frequency.<br />

ILV sync. inop.<br />

Message on both devices<br />

Insert flow sensor correctly.<br />

Check patient hoses, check patient mask.<br />

Check condition of patient.<br />

Check pattern of ventilation or<br />

spontaneous breathing frequency.<br />

Check hose system for water (auto<br />

triggering).<br />

Correct alarm limit if neccessary.<br />

!!! Frequency on master device less than<br />

4 breaths per minute.<br />

Set a higher frequency.<br />

Fault in communication between the units. The ventilator functions are not affected,<br />

but there is no communication between<br />

the two units. Replace ventilator to<br />

continue use of ILV.<br />

Call DrägerService.<br />

Insp. hold interrupted ! The »Insp. hold« key was operated for<br />

longer than 15 seconds.<br />

Int. battery discharged !!! The ventilator is being powered by DC<br />

integrated battery due to the absence of<br />

mains power and an external battery. The<br />

time for operation with power from the<br />

integrated battery has expired.<br />

Int. battery in operation ! The ventilator is being powered by DC<br />

integrated battery due to the absence of<br />

mains power and an external battery.<br />

The maximum remaining time from the<br />

integrated battery is 10 minutes.<br />

Int. battery only 2 minutes<br />

left<br />

Key O2 Y suction overused? !! Key has been pressed frequently in a short<br />

Key overused? !! Due to frequent key use, the screen<br />

contents of the display are repeatedly<br />

redrawn.<br />

Brief communication failure between<br />

display processor and main processor.<br />

Release »Insp. hold« key.<br />

Connect ventilator immediately to mains<br />

power supply or to a fully charged external<br />

battery.<br />

Connect ventilator to the mains power<br />

supply or to a fully charged battery within<br />

10 minutes.<br />

Connect ventilator to the mains power<br />

supply or to a fully charged battery within<br />

2 minutes.<br />

Acknowledge message by pressing<br />

»Alarm Reset« key and confirm. If this<br />

message appears repeatedly:<br />

Disconnect patient from the device and<br />

continue ventilation immediately with<br />

another independent ventilator.<br />

Call DrägerService.<br />
