Preparing<br />

● Note the hospital hygiene regulations!<br />

The ventilator must be cleaned and conditioned after every<br />

patient.<br />

To avoid all risk of infection by hospital staff and other<br />

patients, the ventilator must be disinfected and cleaned<br />

whenever it has been used (protective clothing, eye protection,<br />

etc.).<br />

Dismantling<br />

● Switch off the ventilator and humidifier, and remove their<br />

power plugs.<br />

● Drain the water traps and ventilation hoses.<br />

● Drain the water container of the humidifier.<br />

CO2 sensor (optional)<br />

1 Remove from the cuvette. Unplug the connector from the<br />

back of <strong>EvitaXL</strong>.<br />

2 Remove the cuvette of the CO2 sensor from the Y-piece.<br />

3 Remove the catheter cone from the cuvette.<br />

● Wipe-disinfect the CO2 sensor, see page 160.<br />

● Condition the cuvette in a cleaning and disinfection<br />

machine, see page 161.<br />

Temperature sensor<br />

4 Remove from the Y-piece or from the mounting of hose<br />

set K. Do not pull the cable.<br />

● Unplug the connector from the back of <strong>EvitaXL</strong>.<br />

● Wipe-disinfect the temperature sensor, see page 160.<br />

● The temperature sensor must not be conditioned in a<br />

cleaning and disinfection machine, nor placed in a disinfectant<br />

bath.<br />

Liquid may seep inside the sensor and impair its<br />

functioning!<br />
