Conclusions(1) For reliable estimates of earthquake risk, <strong>the</strong>re is an urgent need to scan <strong>the</strong>historical records in different Indian languages so that <strong>the</strong> catalogue of Indian earthquakesmay be extended, similar to <strong>the</strong> Chinese and Japanese regions where dataare available for <strong>2000</strong> to 3000 years.
