418 S. Miyamuraof the seismogram. The records reveal that from January 1, 1935, seismographs atthe new outpost station of Leipzig, Collmberg (CLL), were used for the readings, butISS did not change the station name (B. Tittel, 1985, personal communication). ISClists Leipzig as LEI and mentions Leipzig Collm as an alternate name of Collmberg, and so there is no ambiguity. In general, station coordinates are found in the station directories and stationbulletins. We often find different coordinates for stations with the same name. However, the difference of coordinates does not necessarily correspond to the actualmove of the seismometer sites. Sometimes the difference is due to printing mistakes, and sometimes it represents the move of the office building and not the seismometersite. The first Bergen station in the Bergen Museum prior to 1968 was 300 mnorth of the station in Vilari 9 old institute, and was never moved until 1968. However, station bulletins gave a couple of different coordinates, because of inaccuratedeterminations or printing mistakes (M. Sellevoll, 1977, personal communication).4. Concluding RemarksIn this paper I have pointed out many errors in several valuable publications. Ihope it is understood that the intention is not to degrade the importance of thesepublications, but rather to recommend the readers to use them properly. In addition, I am afraid that this paper may include many mistakes due to myignorance and/or carelessness. If the readers find any mistakes, please inform medirectly and also publish the errors to avoid misleading the seismological community.ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSI would like to express my sincere gratitude to Drs. W. H. K. Lee, U.S. GeologicalSurvey, and H.
