430 0. Ye. Starovoita station, its three-letter code, the time period for which microfilms are available, alist of microfilmed seismograms, and the amplitude-frequency characteristics of theequipment.(3) Arrangement and storage of microfilm sets and data exchange. Each rollis catalogued and stored in the Center of Seismic Information at the Institute ofthe Physics of the Earth in Obninsk, and is also available at World Data Center B(Moscow). The USSR and the USA exchange microfilms through respective WDC-Band WDC-A. In addition, copies of microfilm may be sent to researchers uponrequest.(4) Preparation of catalog of microfilm and analysis of the quality of historicalrecords of strong earthquakes. The main purpose here is to provide seismologistswith information on microfilmed records of strong earthquakes recorded at Sovietstations, including their quality. This is the final stage, in which we develop quantitativecriteria of record quality and further formalize the search and selection ofthese data using computers.Presently in the Soviet Union, seismograms of six seismic stations are microfilmed.Table 1 gives data on the operation dates at these stations for which microfilms areavailable, as well as instrumentation history.Table 1.
