As postdoctoral researcher, sheis currently carrying out toxicokinetics studies on dermal route using an in vitrosystem. <strong>The</strong> studied compounds are mainly pesticides and biocides. She is a SOTmember and participates in an expert group on pesticide exposure.Michele Bouchard is an associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Department <strong>of</strong> Environmentaland Occupational Health <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Montreal. She is head <strong>of</strong> the Chair inToxicological Risk Assessment and Management <strong>of</strong> the University and head <strong>of</strong> theBiomarker Unit <strong>of</strong> the Xenobiotics and Nanoparticles plateform funded by CanadaFoundation for Innovation. Her researches aim at better assessing toxicologicalhealth risks in humans associated with environmental and occupational exposures tochemical compounds through the use <strong>of</strong> biomonitoring and toxicokinetic modeling.Studied contaminants include natural pyrethrins, pyrethroids, phthalimides,organophosphorus insecticides, carbamates, polychlorinated biphenyls, polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons, formaldehyde, selenium, mercury, arsenic, acrylamide andnanoparticles <strong>of</strong> titanium dioxide.Mathieu Valcke has a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in toxicologyand risk assessment from the University <strong>of</strong> Montreal. He cumulates more than 10years <strong>of</strong> experience in the field <strong>of</strong> public health, more specifically on topics relatedto the health risk assessment <strong>of</strong> environmental contaminants in soils, food andwater. He also realized studies on the exposure and health risk related to the use<strong>of</strong> pesticides. He currently holds a position as the Chief scientific advisor <strong>of</strong> theToxicological risk assessment Group at the National Institute <strong>of</strong> Public Health <strong>of</strong>the Province <strong>of</strong> Quebec, Canada, and has a clinical adjunct pr<strong>of</strong>essor affiliation atthe Department <strong>of</strong> Environmental and Occupational Health <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong>Montreal.Roberto Heredia Ortiz is a research assistant in the Department <strong>of</strong> Environmentaland Occupational Health <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Montreal. He worked on thedevelopment <strong>of</strong> models to reconstruct exposure to phthalimide fungicides frombiomarker data, predict main exposure routes in workers and propose biologicalreference values.
