For this, the position of the left lower control arm in relation<br />

to the structure is transferred over a connecting link to the<br />

left front level control system sensor G78 . The sensor<br />

transmits electrical signals to the headlight range control<br />

module.<br />

On the rear axle, signals are transmitted to the control<br />

module from the left rear level control system sensor G76 .<br />

These signals are required for determining vehicle height.<br />

The automatic headlight range control reacts automatically<br />

to changes in vehicle inclination.<br />

The vehicle height can change in the following situations:<br />

• Towing a trailer<br />

• Different load conditions; vehicle empty, vehicle<br />

partially or fully loaded<br />

• Slow or fast driving habits<br />

Caution!<br />

Adjustment of headlights!<br />

Note:<br />

• Checking the headlight basic setting is necessary<br />

when:<br />

• The retaining clamp for the connecting link on the<br />

lower control arm was loosened<br />

• The lower link/arm was removed and installed or<br />

replaced<br />

• Work is performed on level control system sensor<br />

• The level control system sensor is replaced<br />
