Test sequence<br />

- Remove engine cover.<br />

- Disconnect pressure hose to<br />

combi-valve at coupling (arrow).<br />

Note:<br />

To release, press buttons together<br />

on hose coupling.<br />

- Activate Secondary Air Injection<br />

(AIR) pump relay -J299- via<br />

output Diagnostic Test Mode<br />

(DTM):<br />

<strong>Repair</strong> Manual, 2.8 Liter VR6 4V<br />

Fuel Injection & Ignition, Engine<br />

Code(s) BDF, <strong>Repair</strong> Group 01<br />

Secondary air injection pump<br />

motor must run at intervals and<br />

air must exit at outlet of pressure<br />

hose.<br />

If the motor runs, but little or no air<br />

exits:<br />

- Press C key to abort output DTM.<br />

Output Diagnostic Test Mode was aborted Indicated on display<br />

- Switch ignition off.<br />

- Replace Secondary Air Injection<br />

(AIR) pump motor -V101- Page<br />

If the secondary air injection pump<br />

motor does not run at intervals:<br />

- Check activation of Secondary Air<br />
