up to 9 in. long, rather stout, naked or with a few small scales,<br />

without a whorl of floats below the flowers, but the whorl of<br />

leaves at the base of the raceme-stalk has often its rhachis<br />

more or less inflated and thus acts as a float. Bracts small,<br />

egg-shaped. Flower-stalks J to f in. long, bent down in fruit.<br />

Calyx --g- in. long, lobes almost equal, egg-shaped. Corolla<br />

yellow, s~^ in. across ; spur nearly as long as the lower lip.<br />

Capsule almost globose, 1 in. long. Seeds -^V^V in. diameter,<br />

disc-shaped, irregularly 4-6-angled.<br />

Locality. Dal Lake.<br />

Distribution. Throughout the greater part of India and in<br />

Ceylon, extending to Malaya, tropical Africa and N. Australia.<br />

long, not much dissected, the segments all capillary, but one<br />

or more represented by bladders, or the whole leaf transformed<br />

into a bladder. Eacemes 1-3 -flowered ;<br />

1J-3 in. long, with a very small, bract-like scale below the middle.<br />

Flower-stalks slender, ^-J in. long, erect in fruit ;<br />

bracteoles<br />

very small, egg-shaped. Calyx TV in. long, segments broadly<br />

elliptic. Corolla yellow with darker streaks, -J in. long;<br />

spur as long as or slightly longer than the lower lip. Capsule<br />

globose, thi in - diameter. Seeds disc-shaped, with a broad,<br />

corky ring.<br />

Locality. At lower elevations.<br />

Distribution. Throughout India from the N.W. Himalaya<br />

and Assam to Ceylon, extending to S.E. Asia, Malaya and<br />

N. Australia.<br />

Stems thread-like, 4-12 in. high. Leaves regularly forked<br />

in two parts,<br />

much divided, loose, broad, round, with awllike,<br />

entire segments, not fringed with hairs. Bladders with<br />

slender stalks. Flowering stem 3-9 in. long, 2-8-fkrwered.<br />

Flowers small, pale yellow ;<br />

stalks 2-3 times as long as<br />

the calyx, bent down in fruit. Sepals round, long-pointed.<br />

Corolla in. long, lower lip much longer than the upper,<br />

broadly egg-shaped, with a flat, spreading margin. Spur very<br />

short, small, blunt.<br />

Capsule globose, as long as the calyx.
