Branches often many from the root, 0-6 in. long. Leaves
elliptic or oblong, radical ones 1 by iin., inversely egg-shapedoblong,
sharp-pointed, stem-leaves i-f in. long. Flowers
solitary, stalkless, blue. Calyx-tube i in. long, bell-shaped,
lobes i in. long, spoon-shaped-oblong, sharp-pointed, a wide
sinus between the lobes. Corolla 1-li by \ in., tube-bellshaped,
lobes -J- in., egg-shaped, sharp-pointed, erect. Capsule
i by in., stalk ---1 in.
Locality. Thajwas, on rocks.
Distribution. W. Himalaya, from Kashmir to Kumaon,

Eootstock stout, perennial. Flowering stems 2-12 in. high,
simple. Leaves oblong or linear, radical ones 3 by ^ in.,
tuffced, stem-leaves 1 in. long, linear, united at the base into a
tube. Flowers 1-4 on each stem. Calyx-tube i-i in. long,
not keeled, lobes J-i in. long, not all equal, linear, rarely somewhat
oblong. Corolla 2 by 4" in., lobes i in. long, egg-shaped,
sharp-pointed, sky-blue. Capsule f by | in., stalk i-i in. long.
Seeds twice as long as broad, sharp-pointed at one end, almost
tail-shaped at the other.
