Stem 8-16 in. high, erect, branches ascending. Leaves
oblong or elliptic or lance-shaped, 1 by i in., narrowed below.
Flowers arranged in cymes on a common axis, stalks i-li in.
long. Calyx-tube T\> in. long, often longer, lobes i in. long,
linear. Corolla blue, when open i-1 in. long, before expansion
often short, enlarged in fruit, often li in. long, funnel-shaped,
mouth i in. diameter, no folds between the lobes, lobes 4-5.
Stamens included in the tube. Capsule f in. long, lanceshaped,
stalk i in. long.
Locality. Thajwas ;
Baltistan.
Distribution. W. Himalaya ;
Kashmir and Lahul, 8,000-
12,000 ft.
