long, leaf-like. Mower-stalks 0-i in. long. Calyx-lobes 5,<br />
in. long, narrowly oblong, in fruit often 1 in. Corolla<br />
yellow, f in. long, i in. diameter at top, slightly widened<br />
upwards, hairless without. Filaments of stamens linear,<br />
anthers included in the tube or slightly protruding. Style<br />
overtopping the anthers. Nutlets i-J in. long, shining, smooth,<br />
white, often speckled.<br />

A hairy plant. Stems 1-2 ft. high. Leaves linear, whitewoolly<br />
beneath, stem-leaves 14 by -B in., stiff -hairy above<br />
from bulbous bases. Kacemes 1-3 in. long, divided. Bracts<br />
^ in. long, linear. Mower-stalks 0-J in. long. Calyx-lobes 5,<br />
linear, ^ in. long, scarcely larger in fruit. Corolla -J-i in.<br />
long, cylindric, slightly widened upwards, finely hairy, mouth<br />
1-i in. wide. Anthers more than half their length protruding.<br />
Style overtopping the stamens. Nutlets in. long, eggshaped,<br />
somewhat bent, hairless, sides indistinctly angular.<br />

A hairy plant. Stems 15 in. high, erect, stout, covered<br />
with spreading hairs. Eadical leaves lance-shaped, 6 by 1 in.,<br />
stalked, stem-leaves egg-lance-shaped, 2 by f in., long-pointed,<br />
upper surface stiff-hairy from bulbous bases, silky-white<br />
beneath. Flowers in dense, silky heads 2-3 in. diameter.<br />
Calyx-lobes in fruit 1 in. long, linear, silky. Corolla in.<br />
diameter at the mouth, hairy without, tube J in. long, slightly<br />
