STRUCTURE ELUCIDATION OF A NEW ESTRONE BASED TRIAZOLE<br />

BY NMR SPECTROSCOPY<br />

Two-dimensional Nuclear Magnetic Resonance methods are effective in the complete structure determination of<br />

steroid compounds. In this work, a triazole derivative of 3-O-benzyl-estrone (compound 2), obtained by sodium borohydride<br />

reduction of D-seco- 16-cyano-17-tosylhydrazone (compound 1) was subjected to investigation with homoand<br />

heteronuclear 2D NMR techniques ( 1 H/ 1 H COSY, NOESY, HSQC and HMBC) to achive 1 H and 13 C NMR assignments,<br />

particularly of the steroidal backbone.<br />
