Consideration of measures to prepare potential migrant workers for<br />
entry into foreign labour markets, and arrange for pre-departure assistance,<br />
such as language and cultural orientation, and vocational training<br />
as needed.<br />
Provision of information to departing migrant workers on working<br />
conditions, health and safety, their rights and sources of support potentially<br />
available in the country of destination.<br />
Exploration of measures for the mutual recognition of qualifications.<br />
Consideration of programmes to foster skills development and savings<br />
and investment schemes that will provide incentive for and assist<br />
migrants returning to their home countries.<br />
Protection of migrant workers through implementation of public information<br />
campaigns to raise awareness of migrants’ rights, and ensuring<br />
that migrants receive the social and employment benefits that they are<br />
due.<br />
Promote the enjoyment by authorized migrant workers of the treatment<br />
accorded to citizen workers, such as access to training, minimum<br />
wage, maximum hour rules, prohibition of child labour and right<br />
to establish unions.<br />
Adoption of measures to ensure respect for the rights of female migrant<br />
workers.<br />
Provision of full access for temporary migrant workers to consular<br />
assistance.<br />
Adoption of measures for the integration of migrant workers in order<br />
to encourage cultural acceptance, and to ensure that the rights of<br />
migrants and members of their families are respected and protected.<br />

highly skilled workers of their skills in the country of destination.<br />
Consideration of providing information on employment vacancies to<br />
potential migrants, on the recognition requirements for occupational<br />
qualifications and other practical information, such as taxation and<br />

Promotion of research and analysis on the impact of migrant workers<br />
