causes of population displacement. In turn, migration movements can have
significant impacts on the environment, including in urban context. States
more and more recognize the increasing significance of ecological issues and
the interdependence of disaster reduction, protection of national resources,
and environmental management and call for an intensification of international
cooperation and efforts to protect and improve the environment.
Promotion of the need to reduce the causes and consequences of
natural disasters and environmental degradation.
Intensification of international cooperation and efforts among States,
international organizations and other interested stakeholders to protect
and improve the environment.
Implementation of measures to reduce the incidence and scope of
natural disasters and the displacements associated with them.
