Tahia ya Didou, la única película rodada por Mohamed Zinet, es un vagabundeo por las calles de Argel, un
retrato extraño y a veces jocoso de los habitantes de la ciudad. Encargada por el Ayuntamiento como película
publicitaria para dar mayor auge al turismo, nunca fue utilizada para ese fin y ha sido proyectada en salas
comerciales en contadas ocasiones. Sin embargo, se ha convertido en una película de culto para los cinéfilos.
Tahia ya Didou, the only movie filmed by Mohamed Zinet, is a
ramble through the streets of Algiers, a bizarre and occasionally
comical portrait of the city’s inhabitants. Commissioned
by the Town Hall, who wanted a promotional film to boost
tourism, the film was never used to that end, and was only
rarely screened in commercial theaters. However, it is considered
a cult film for cinema buffs.
Unique film de Mohamed Zinet, Tahia ya Didou est un vagabondage
dans les rues d’Alger, à la rencontre de ses habitants, un
portrait étrange et parfois cocasse. Commandé par la municipalité
d’Alger, qui souhaitait un film publicitaire pour relancer
le tourisme, le film n’a jamais été utilisé comme tel et a été
très rarement montré en salles. Il est pourtant devenu un
film culte pour cinéphiles avisés.
