Hawa Essuman (Ghana, Kenya)
Hawa Essuman, nacida en 1980, es una artista keniana original de Ghana. Actriz,
productora, guionista y directora, tiene experiencia en teatro, como productora de
documentales y directora de cine y televisión. Trabaja en el mundo del teatro en
Nairobi. En 2007 actuó en la película italiana Piano solo. En 2008, durante un taller
para apasionados del cine, se involucró en el proyecto Soul Boy, su primer largo
como realizadora, que rodó junto al director alemán Tom Tykwer.

Hawa Essuman, born in 1980, is a Kenyan artist’s originally
from Ghana. Actress, producer, writer and director, with a
background in theater, and experience in documentary film
and television production and direction. She has worked in
theater in Nairobi. In 2007, she starred in the Italian film
Piano Solo. In 2008, during a workshop for film lovers, she
became involved in the project Soul Boy, her first feature as a
director, which she shot together with German director Tom
Tykwer.
Hawa Essuman, née en 1980, est une artiste kényane originaire
du Ghana. Actrice, productrice, scénariste et réalisatrice,
elle a de l’expérience dans le théâtre, comme productrice de
documentaires et en tant que réalisatrice dans le cinéma et la
télévision. Hawa travaille dans le domaine du théâtre à Nairobi.
En 2007 elle a joué dans le film italien Piano solo. En 2008,
lors d’un atelier pour des passionés du cinéma, elle s’est investie
dans le projet Soul Boy, son premier long-métrage en
tant que réalisatrice, réalisé avec le réalisateur allemand Tom
Tykwer.
