Hence, Mujeres por África wants to work with women
from African cinema. We wish to share experiences and
background. We want the films made by African women to
be seen in Spain and for those made by Spanish women to be
seen in Africa. We wish to carry out joint projects, supporting
each other to advance together towards the goals of freedom,
equality and progress that unite all women in the world, and
most certainly African and Spanish women.
Mujeres por África is collaborating with CIMA, the Women
Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media Association, within a
project headed by the Spanish screenwriter and director Ines
Paris, a board member of the foundation. They are working
to promote this cooperation, which will also play a part in
supporting education for young African women in African
state schools in the audiovisual field.
Ultimately, the Mujeres por África Foundation wishes to be
with and work with African women in the world of images.
The ninth African Film Festival will surely be a big step
forward on this path.
Ainsi, Femmes pour l’Afrique veut travailler avec les femmes
du cinéma africain, partager leurs expériences et leur vécu.
La Fondation veut que l’Espagne connaisse le cinéma réalisé
par les femmes africaines et que l’Afrique connaisse celui
des femmes espagnoles. Elle veut développer des projets
communs pour un soutien réciproque des femmes qui ont
pour objectifs la liberté, l’égalité et le progrès - objectifs qui
unissent les femmes à travers le monde, et notamment des
femmes africaines et espagnoles.
Dans ce domaine, Femmes pour l’Afrique travaille en
collaboration avec le CIMA (Association des Femmes
Cinéastes et des Medias Audiovisuels), au sein du projet
dirigé para la scénariste et réalisatrice espagnole Inés París,
conseillère de la Fondation. Femmes pour l’Afrique favorisera
de même la formation de jeunes africaines dans les écoles
publiques de ce continent en matière d’audiovisuel.
En un mot, la Fondation Femmes pour l’Afrique veut travailler
avec les femmes africaines du monde de l’image, les soutenir.
Dans ce parcours, la neuvième édition du Festival du Cinéma
Africain sera une importante avancée.
