On robots without the ground point on the base, the user can install a ground wire at the<br />

AIB chassis. Use one of the threaded holes around the Robot Interface Panel - see Figure<br />

4-11. The user should provide an M4 screw, an external tooth lockwasher, and a ground<br />

wire to connect to earth ground. Make sure to tighten the screw on the ground wire to<br />

create a proper ground connection.<br />

The PLC Server is equipped with a grounding point. See Figure 4-12. <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>Adept</s<strong>tr</strong>ong> re<s<strong>tr</strong>ong>com</s<strong>tr</strong>ong>mends<br />

connecting a ground wire from the ground point on the PLC Server to earth ground and<br />

that all other interconnected <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>Adept</s<strong>tr</strong>ong> <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>com</s<strong>tr</strong>ong>ponents share the same elec<strong>tr</strong>ical ground<br />

potential. The ground wire must meet all local regulations. Additional grounding<br />

information for other <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>Adept</s<strong>tr</strong>ong> products are provided in the documentation for those<br />

products.<br />

NOTE: The maximum length for the ground wire for the PLC Server is 3<br />

meters.<br />
