Connecting Customer-Supplied Digital I/O Equipment<br />

In the following figure, example 1 shows inputs (1001 to 1004) with a negative <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>com</s<strong>tr</strong>ong>mon,<br />
example 2 shows inputs (1005 to 1008) with a positive <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>com</s<strong>tr</strong>ong>mon, and example 3 shows<br />
inputs (1009 to 1012) with an independent power supply (no <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>com</s<strong>tr</strong>ong>mon).<br />

Output Signals<br />
The XDIO connector handles output signals 0001 to 0008. Refer to Table 4-12 for output<br />
specifications. The locations of the signals on the connector are shown in Table 4-13 on<br />
page 70. The XDIO connector provides separate positive and negative connections for<br />
each channel (no internal <s<strong>tr</strong>ong>com</s<strong>tr</strong>ong>mon connections). This allows the choice of wiring for<br />
current-sourcing or current-sinking modes.<br />
