vinni. Estére értünk oda. Arra emlékszem, hogy
este volt. Betereltek minket egy ilyen táborfélébe.
Volt ott cigány, zsidó, férfiak, nôk, egybe
mindenki, nem válogattak ezek. Ott voltunk
legalább másfél hónapig. Másfél hó napig csak
vártunk meg vártunk. Szédelegtünk az
éhségtôl. Inni is csak hébe-hóba adtak.
Másfél hónap múlva megint bevago nyé roz -
ták az összesünket. Elvittek minket Dachauba.
Este volt, mikor megérkeztünk. Rengeteg nép,
ahogy leszálltunk a vagonyból. Piciny gyere ke -
ket is hoztak zsidó nôk, kis fiatal nôk, sírtak a
gyerekek, meg sírtak a nôk, hogy ne vigyék el a
kis gyerekeimet. Ordítottak szegények, de el -
vették tôlük a gyerekeket. Azt mondták, el vi szik
ôket gyerekkórházba, azokat akik betegek.
Nem is látták soha többé ôket. Betegek voltak
a rengeteg éhezéstôl, mert nekik sem adtak en -
ni. Ezek senkin nem könyörültek, hogy az Is ten
verje meg ôket. Sok még hármat is ho zott.
Bôröndökkel jöttek, bepakoltak pap lano kat,
ruhákat, mindent a kisgyerekeknek. De be se
vihették a táborba, mindent leszórtak, volt egy
olyan nagy helység, ott annyi ruha volt, meg az
a sok ékszer, azt el nem lehet mondani. Ha -
lomba a ruhák meg ékszerek egymásra pa kolva.
De mindenféle. Ugye, rólunk, cigá nyok ról nem
tudtak mit leszedni, mert mi sze gények vol -
tunk, csak az a kis ruhánk volt, amibe meg -
érkeztünk.
A férfiakat is meg a gyerekeket is külön
then they took us to the transit camp at
Komárom. We were transported in a wagon, usually
used for animals. We arrived there in the
evening. I re member that it was evening. They
drove us into a place like a camp. There were
Gypsies, Jews, men, women everybody together.
These men did not select. We were there for at
least one and a half months. We waited for one
and a half months. We were dizzy because of
hunger. They only gave us food now and then.
One and a half months later, all of us were
loaded into a wagon again. They took us to
Dachau. We arrived in the evening. There was a
huge crowd, as we got off the train. Jewish
women brought their children as well, small
young women. The children were crying and the
women were crying and asked them not to take
their children. The poor ones cried but their children
were taken from them. They said, they
would take them, those who were ill, to the children’s
hospital. They never saw them again. They
were ill because of starvation, they had not been
fed either. These people had no mer cy on anybody,
damned people. Many brought at least
three children. They had come with big suitcases.
They packed eiderdowns, clothes, everything
for the small children. But these things were not
allowed into the camp. They scattered everything
out of the suitcases. There was a big place where
there were so many clothes and jewels, I couldn’t
even tell. The clothes and jewels were put on top
of each other. All kinds. They could not take off
anything from us, Gypsies because we were poor
and we only had those clothes that we had
arrived in.
