<strong>RAID</strong> levels supported: <strong>RAID</strong> 0, 1, 3, and 5<br />

The new partition must be mapped to a host LUN in order for the<br />

HBA (host-bus adapter) to recognize its presence. If you want to add<br />

the new partition into an existing system drive, operating system<br />

support is needed.<br />

10.1.2 Adding Drive to a Logical Drive<br />

Before adding more SCSI drives to a logical drive, make sure your<br />

enclosure has empty drive bay(s) ready. You may need to obtain an<br />

enclosure with more drive bays. Use new drive of the same capacity.<br />

After new drives are added, the capacity of the original logical drive<br />

will be the same and the additional capacity will appear as another<br />

partition (new partition). When expansion is completed, data will be<br />

re-striped across the original and the newly added drives. See the<br />

diagram below to get a clear idea:<br />
