been taken over by the existing controller. The controller may<br />

take a couple of seconds before the controllers finish initializing<br />

and assume their load.<br />

2. Failover by "Forcing controller failure"<br />

Select "View and Edit Peripheral Devices,"<br />

"Set Peripheral Device Entry," and "Redundant <strong>Controller</strong><br />

Primary/Secondary."<br />

Select "Force Primary/ Secondary <strong>Controller</strong> Failure."<br />

You may now pull out the controller you had just disabled.<br />

I/Os should be continued by the existing controller.<br />

Continue the aforementioned procedure to complete the test.<br />

WARNING!<br />

• This function should only be performed for testing the redundant controller<br />

functionality before any critical data is committed to drives. Although the controller<br />

is designed to be hot-swappable, unpredictable failures may occur during the process,<br />

i.e. improper handling of PCB boards while replacing controllers.<br />
