13.6.5 Before Using In-band SCSI Text <strong>RAID</strong> Manager<br />

• In order to let the In-band SCSI utilities (Text <strong>RAID</strong> Manager or<br />

GUI <strong>RAID</strong> Manager) communicate with the <strong>RAID</strong> controller<br />

correctly, it is a must to set the corresponded Peripheral Device<br />

Type if there is no logical drive mapped to the host channel SCSI<br />

ID/LUN.<br />

• Please refer to the README.TXT in "\3102\DISK" of this CD disc,<br />

or refer to the instruction manuals for more detail information<br />

about "Peripheral Device Type" setting.<br />

13.6.6 Using Text <strong>RAID</strong> Manager to Configure <strong>RAID</strong><br />

1. Insert the driver diskette into the floppy drive and mount it.<br />

# mount -r /dev/fd0 /mnt<br />

(where "/dev/fd0" refers to the floppy drive, "/mnt" is the<br />

directory where the floppy mounted to.)<br />

2. Use "pkgadd" to begin the installation, choose "2" to install the<br />

Text <strong>RAID</strong> Manager for SCO OpenServer.<br />

# pkgadd -d /mnt<br />

The following packages are available:<br />

1 CfgTool <strong>RAID</strong> Configuration Tool For Unixware<br />

(i386)<br />

2 CfgToolUx <strong>RAID</strong> Configuration Tool For SCO OpenServer<br />

(i386)<br />

3 sr01 <strong>RAID</strong> TARGET DRIVER<br />

(i386) 1.11b<br />

Select package(s) you wish to process (or 'all' to process<br />

all packages). (Default: all) [?,??,?]:2<br />

3. After the installation process completed, use "mkdev hd" to make<br />

add a SCSI drive to the system.<br />

# mkdev hd<br />

Add a SCSI drive with corresponded host ID/LUN to the<br />

controller setting. If the host channel ID of the controller is ID 0,<br />

add a SCSI drive with SCSI ID 0 / LUN 0.<br />

4. Relink the kernel after add SCSI drive to the system.<br />

# cd /etc/conf/cf.d<br />

# ./link_unix<br />
