The physical connection of a <strong>RAID</strong> controller should be similar to the<br />

one shown above. Install the controller into an enclosure canister,<br />

then connect drives to the controller's SCSI/Fibre channels.<br />

A Logical Drive consists of a group of SCSI drives. Drives in one<br />

logical drive do not have to come from the same SCSI channel. Also,<br />

each logical drive can be configured a different <strong>RAID</strong> level.<br />

A drive can be assigned as the Local Spare Drive to one specified<br />

logical drive, or as a Global Spare Drive. Spares can be conducted to<br />

automatic system rebuild. Spare is not available for logical drives that<br />

has no data redundancy (N<strong>RAID</strong> and <strong>RAID</strong> 0).<br />
