<strong>Controller</strong> Unique Identifier<br />

Choose “View and Edit Configuration<br />

parameters,” “<strong>Controller</strong> Parameters," then<br />

press ENT. Press▼ or ▲ to select “Ctlr<br />

Unique ID-,” then press ENT. Enter any<br />

number from 1 to 65535 and press ENT to<br />

proceed. The ID will be generated into a<br />

controller-unique WWN node name. In<br />

redundant mode, this unique ID will be<br />

used to prevent host from mis-addressing<br />

the storage system during failback process.<br />

ID MUST be different for each controller.<br />

6.15 SCSI Drive Utilities<br />

From the “View and Edit SCSI Drives”<br />

menu, select the drive that the utility is<br />

to be performed on; then press ENT.<br />

Select “SCSI Drive Utilities; then press<br />

ENT. Choose either “SCSI Drive Lowlevel<br />

Format” or “Read/Write Test”.<br />

SCSI Drive Low-level Format<br />

Choose “SCSI Drive Low-level Format”<br />

and confirm by selecting Yes.<br />

• Do not switch the controller’s and/or SCSI disk drive’s power off during the SCSI<br />

Drive Low-level Format. If any power failure occurs during a drive low-level format,<br />

the formatting must be performed again when power resumes.<br />

• All of the data stored in the SCSI disk drive will be destroyed during a low-level<br />

format.<br />

• The SCSI disk drive on which a low-level disk format will be performed cannot be a<br />

spare drive (local or global) nor a member drive of a logical drive. The "SCSI Drive<br />

Low-level Format" option will not appear if the drive is not a "New Drive" or a "Used<br />

Drive."<br />
