Procedure<br />
The right belt tension is between 0.4 - 0.5 %. That means that a length mark of 1000mm (applied on the belt with a pen)<br />
on a loose <strong>running</strong> belt will exp<strong>and</strong> to between 1004 <strong>and</strong> 1005mm at the right belt tension.<br />
Through turning of the left <strong>and</strong> right adjustment <strong>and</strong> tightening screws (hex socket 8mm) to the right the correct belt<br />
tension will be obtained. The belt can be tightened until the shaft does not turn anymore when <strong>running</strong> belt is being<br />
blocked (see control of <strong>running</strong> belt tension).<br />
The hex socket must be pulled out of the screw immediately after usage due to risk of injury!<br />
[9.F] Adjustment (centering) of the <strong>running</strong> belt<br />
Attention: Dangerous capture area at the tail shaft at the back of the devices (belt re-entry zone).<br />
Take care not to be caught with long hair or loose clothes in the capture area of the tail shaft. For<br />
safety reasons the procedure of adjustment has to be supervised by a second person that can<br />
press the emergency-stop in an emergency.<br />
Before adjustment of the <strong>running</strong> belt the belt has to be lubricated, if necessary. Lubrication of the belt may have impact<br />
on the centring of the belt.<br />
Adjust the <strong>running</strong> belt while the device is in operation with the help of the left trimming screw of the <strong>running</strong> <strong>machine</strong>.<br />
Use the enclosed hex socket ( 8 mm ). Operate <strong>running</strong> <strong>machine</strong> at 12 km/h without elevation. Watch the <strong>running</strong> belt<br />
for at least 2 minutes. The <strong>running</strong> belt should be in a centre position on the rear roller (tail shaft).<br />
If this is not the case please pay attention to the following points.<br />
N Move the <strong>running</strong> belt to the right by turning the LEFT trimming screw to the right.<br />
N Move the <strong>running</strong> belt to the left by turning the LEFT trimming screw to the left.<br />
N If the discrepancy is only minor the screw should only be turned max. ¼, in the case of major discrepancies with<br />
max. ½ a turn.<br />
N The <strong>running</strong> belt has to be observed after each alteration for at least 2 minutes. For the purpose of control operate<br />
the Running-Machine at 5 km/h <strong>and</strong> 20 km/h.<br />
N The procedure of adjustment is finished if the <strong>running</strong> belt stays in the centre of the rear roller (tail shaft) after<br />
having been operated at a speed of 12 km/h for some time (min. 4 min.).<br />
N Uphill run <strong>and</strong> different other <strong>running</strong> styles can lead to locomotion of the <strong>running</strong> belt. +/- 2cm are to be<br />
considered as an area of tolerance. As long as the <strong>running</strong> belt returns to the centre at a speed of 12 km/h it is not<br />
necessary to readjust. The <strong>running</strong> belt remains in the adjusted position for a period of months if it has been done<br />
correctly.<br />
