Whnt has been the net impact of PTEP on the ships supported by the
FDPt Weapons Systcn Training Prograri? It has provided a positive
means of identifying the best means of employing training time. It
has indicated whcrc serious training deficiencies exist, particuiarly
in supervisory pcrsonnc~. it has provided a tool for identifying to
highor conmands personnel and training deficiencies beyond the
immediate control of the submarine Commanding Officer.
For the training camand, PTSP has standardized definitions of objec-
tive and insisted upon cocpliance with these objectives. For
managemnt cocnands, PTEP has derrohstrated the effectiveness and
ineffectiveness of various management tools built into the FBM
Weapons System Trainin? Program. It has provided a quickly accessible
pool of infomatim for analyzing crew, rate, or KEC problems. PTEP
has the capability and has made beginnings towards measuring the
program against the product of, the previous program. Both the
Naval Examining Center and the Bureau of Naval Personnel have been
provided with PTCP products.
