The eiqhth factor was interpreted as two varying perceptionsof the adage "rank bath its priviledges (power)". It was based on the perceived transference ol.c the hurband's rank to the wife. The dynamic was primarily cne of Ierccived lzower in the trancfcrence as opposed to no power. The younger, lower rank, wives felt more power was inherent in the transfer, while the aider, higher ranking wives vre frustrated by the erosion of their preconception with the realization of the lack of power that the bust-Ads' rank gives to his wife. Identificatic.1 with the source cf information about the Air Force was the interpretation cf Fxtcr IS.
