ALARMSAlarms are conditions that require correction by the user and may be a safety issue but are notsystem errors of the pump. All alarm conditions stop the infusion. The only exception to thisrule is at the “Infusion Complete” alarm, which allows the KVO rate, when programmed, tocontinue infusing. When an alarm occurs, a message is displayed on the screen, the audio alarm issounded, and the red LED light flashes. The message stays on the screen until the pause key ispressed. The “Silence” key can be pressed to disable the audio alarm for one-minute intervals. The cause of the alarm must be resolved, or the alarm will recur when the infusion is restarted. To exit an alarm screen, press the “PAUSE” key, resolve the alarm condition, and then resumethe therapy by selecting “RESUME” from the Pause Menu.TroubleshootingThe following is a selected and alphabetical list of the alarms, conditions that cause the alarms, messages displayed on the screen, and actions necessary to resolve them:LCD Display:Alarm:Cause:Resolution:LCD Display:Alarm:Cause:Resolution:LCD Display:Alarm:Cause:Resolution:ALARM AIR IN LINEAir In LinePump has detected air in the administration set during an infusion.Check air settings and remove air from administration set and IV bag orreservoir per protocol.
