Continuous Prescription Menu1 BAG Vol (IV Bag Volume): Use the numeric keys to enter the amount of fluid in the IV Bagor <strong>Med</strong>ication Reservoir (include the overfill volume).Note: The volume used for priming via the pump or for KVO is deducted from the BagVolume. Therefore, Bag Volume should be equal to or greater than the Amount To BeInfused to start the infusion.When the correct amount has been entered, press the “YES/ENTER” key to accept thisfield and move on to the next. The range for this field is 1 to 9999.2 Amt TBI (Amount To Be Infused): Use the numeric keys to enter the actual amount ofinfusion to be delivered excluding any KVO amounts. The “Units” selected in theprescription menu will automatically appear in this field, whether ml, mg, or mcg. When theamount is correctly entered, use the “YES/ENTER” key to accept this field and to move tothe next. (If the Amt TBI entered is greater than Bag Volume, the pump will beep once. Amessage of “AMT TBI GREATER THAN BAG VOL” will appear to remind you torecheck and change the number before the “YES/ENTER” key will accept the value andmove to the next field.) The range for this field is 1 to 9999.3 RATE: The <strong>Curlin</strong> <strong>Med</strong>ical pump can deliver from 0.1 ml to 400 ml per hour. Use thenumeric keys to enter the prescribed rate. If the time of the infusion is entered first, thepump will automatically calculate the rate. When this field is correct, use the “YES/ENTER”key to accept the rate, and move to the next field.4 TIME: Displays the time required to complete the infusion. When the pump is given theAmount To Be Infused and the RATE at which to infuse, it will automatically calculate theTime and display it here. If the time is not acceptable, press the “NO” key to edit this field,and enter the new TIME with the numeric keys. (Remember, by changing the time of theinfusion, a new RATE will be calculated and will have to be accepted before exiting thismenu. The “Amount To Be Infused” will remain constant.) When the TIME field issatisfactory, press the “YES/ENTER” key and move to the final field. The range for thisfield is 0:01 to 288:00 HH:MM.Note: The time calculated by the pump may be less than a minute; however, one minute is theminimum entry and display value.5 KVO Rate (Keep Vein Open Rate): This field requires data entry using the numeric keys toset the rate at which fluid will be delivered in a “Keep Open” state. The pump defaults to arate of 0.1 ml/hour, can be set from 0 to 10 ml/hour, but cannot be set at a rate to exceed thetherapy-operating rate. When the desired KVO rate has been entered, press the“YES/ENTER” key to accept and move the cursor to the next field.44
