Chapter6TPN Therapy with AutomaticRampingThis therapy is designed to allow a level rate of infusion of parenteral nutritional products with the option of taperingat the beginning, end, or both of the infusion. It also has an early ramp-down feature.Begin programming a TPN Therapy by selecting “TPN” from the “Select Therapy Screen”.The following display screen will appear, requiring you to enter information needed toprogram this therapy.Prescription MenusTPN TherapyTPN Pre-Prescription Menu ScreenThis menu item allows you to customize the program to match each individual prescription. Thepump’s default setting is displayed in the left screen. Each field is individually explained below:1 DELAY (Delay Start): This field allows you to delay the start of the infusion from one minuteup to twenty-four hours. If the infusion is NOT to be delayed, select “OFF” and press the“YES/ENTER” to enter. The cursor will move to the next field.
