RFP MED-12-001 | Technical ProposalIowa Medicaid Enterprise System Service Procurement | MMIS and Core MMIS OperationsThe primary goals of a Test Readiness Review (TRR) are to:• Confirm that test entrance criteria has been met and exceptions have been communicated to thestakeholders• Verify that all critical components for a successful test cycle are in place• Test cases (manual and automated) are complete• Environment/Infrastructure is installed and available• Test data is ready• Risks, issues, and mitigation strategies are in placeThe concept of establishing pre-requisites (entry criteria) and post conditions (exit criteria) is extremelyimportant in managing complex testing involved in MMIS systems. The entry/exit criteria aredocumented to ensure clear understanding where hand-offs occur so that the sending organization canverify completeness before handing over and the receiving unit can validate ‘readiness’ to initiate thetesting process. This is a contributing factor to the success of any testing project. Each build moving fromthe development environment into the test environment will be verified via a suite of basic repositorymigration (installation) verification scripts that will be developed. Additionally, configured componentswill not be permitted to enter the next planned phase of testing or move into production until the agreedupon exit criteria has been met.Entrance criteria are those factors that must be present, at a minimum, in order to start an activity. Thecommon set of entry and exit criteria that will be used on the new MMIS project are shown below.Department-driven activities may expand or reduce the list.Key Entry/Exit Criteria per Test LevelThese sections describe the specific entry and exit criteria for the different test levels involved inthe new MMIS.• Unit Test• Entry Criteria− Unit Test Plan delivered and approved− Business and Technical Requirements & Design are approved by stakeholders− Approval of Unit test plan by the Department• Exit Criteria− 100% of the unit test requirements have been tested− All agreed defects have been resolved• Module Test• Entry Criteria−−−−Module Test Plan has been reviewed and approvedUnit testing completed and final results delivered and approvedAll planned test cases have been created and documentedRequired converted test data is in place (except for that which will be created from other testcases)• Exit Criteria−−−100% of the planned Module Test scripts have been executedAll discovered defects logged into BugzillaNo known Severity 1 or Severity 2 defects8 | 140
