8. Bibliography<br />

A typical feature of emergent/ethnic/postcolonial literatures is the interconnectedness of<br />

theory and literature. Hence, the usual distinction of primary and secondary texts cannot<br />

be applied squarely in such contexts. On the other hand, writings about Hawai’i and its<br />

literature might be included in books about Asian America, for example. Please bear<br />
