Bacillus licheniformis<br />

● The major component of both the preparations is subtilisin Carlsberg (subtilisin A).<br />

● Even under completely non-physiological conditions (substrate to buffer ratio of 1:1), the<br />

enzyme shows excellent chemical and enantiomeric purity (> 99 %).<br />

● Optimase ® M 440 is cheap; has high tolerance to high substrate concentrations, salt concentrations<br />

and organic solvents; is stable at high temperatures; shows high enantioselectivity (even<br />

at high temperatures) and has an acceptable reaction rate.<br />
