2) Remarks<br />

● The engineered Bacillus lentus subtilisin is a serine protease.<br />

● Work-up of the product is simple: after the reaction, toluene is added and product is extracted<br />

and recovered.<br />

● Low cost of the enzyme also eliminates the need for its recovery and reuse, thus making this<br />

resolution an easy process to scale-up.<br />
