In <strong>the</strong> middle <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> term I wrote to each one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Directors to<br />

report to me <strong>the</strong> work <strong>the</strong>y had done and give me an idea <strong>of</strong> what <strong>the</strong>y<br />

expected to accomplish before <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> term. Answers were re-<br />

ceived and in most cases <strong>the</strong>y reported activity in <strong>the</strong>ir respective<br />

Districts, and, notwithstanding that <strong>the</strong>re is no provision in our law<br />

for expenses, many <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se Directors have spent considerable sums <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>ir own money in fur<strong>the</strong>ring <strong>the</strong> interests <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order. I believe<br />

<strong>the</strong>y deserve great credit for <strong>the</strong> work <strong>the</strong>y have done purely for <strong>the</strong><br />

love <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order. Under ano<strong>the</strong>r heading will be found extracts from<br />

<strong>the</strong> reports received to date from Directors, space preventing <strong>the</strong> print-<br />

ing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se in full.<br />
