Nov. 10. 1913<br />

Article IV, Sec. 20. All elective <strong>Grand</strong> Officers shall be chosen<br />

separately by a majority <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> valid votes cast by <strong>the</strong> duly accredited<br />

Representatives <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>. When <strong>the</strong>re are but two candi-<br />

dates for <strong>the</strong> same <strong>of</strong>fice, in <strong>the</strong> event <strong>of</strong> a tie for two successive<br />

ballots, <strong>the</strong> election shall be decided by lot. When <strong>the</strong>re are more<br />

than two candidates in nomination, and nei<strong>the</strong>r received a majority<br />

<strong>of</strong> votes at a balloting, <strong>the</strong> one receiving <strong>the</strong> fewest number <strong>of</strong> votes<br />

shall, after <strong>the</strong> result <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ballot has been announced, be, by <strong>the</strong><br />

Chair, declared dropped from <strong>the</strong> nomination, and <strong>the</strong> balloting shall<br />

proceed.<br />

Past <strong>Grand</strong> Master Davis moved that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> ratify<br />

<strong>the</strong> amendment and become operative on January 1st. 1914.<br />

Past <strong>Grand</strong> Master Merrills raised <strong>the</strong> point <strong>of</strong> order that<br />

this amendment cannot be adopted until after January 1st. 1914.<br />

The <strong>Grand</strong> Master decided <strong>the</strong> point <strong>of</strong> order not well taken,<br />

on <strong>the</strong> ground that laws are not retroactive.<br />

The question being on <strong>the</strong> adoption <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> motion, <strong>the</strong> same<br />

carried by a two-thirds vote.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Past <strong>Grand</strong> Master Davis, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong><br />

proceeded to <strong>the</strong><br />

Election <strong>of</strong> Officers.<br />

Bro. Geo. F. Howard, P.G.M., <strong>of</strong> No. 64, nominated Bro. Warren C.<br />

Darnall, <strong>of</strong> No. 746, for <strong>Grand</strong> Master.<br />

There being but one nomination, Bro. E. R. Sayler, P.G.M.,<br />

<strong>of</strong> No. 6, moved that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary cast <strong>the</strong> unanimous<br />

ballot <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> for Bro. Darnall.<br />

The motion was carried, and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary cast <strong>the</strong><br />

unanimous ballot <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> for Bro. Warren C. Darnall<br />

for <strong>Grand</strong> Master for <strong>the</strong> ensuing term.<br />

FOR DEPUTY GRAND MASTER.<br />

Ero. M. P. Berry, P.G.M., <strong>of</strong> 412, nominated for Deputy <strong>Grand</strong> Mas-<br />

ter, Bro. W. H. Pease, <strong>of</strong> No. 80.<br />

There being but one nomination, Bro. M. P. Berry, P.G.M.,<br />

moved that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary cast <strong>the</strong> unanimous ballot <strong>of</strong><br />

this <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> for Bro. Pease.<br />

The motion was carried, and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary cast <strong>the</strong><br />

unanimous ballot <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> for Bro. W. H. Pease for<br />

Deputy <strong>Grand</strong> Master for <strong>the</strong> ensuing term.
