our work has been completed.<br />

We submit in detail <strong>the</strong> results.<br />

March 30th, 1913, <strong>the</strong> Chairman <strong>of</strong> your committee, through your<br />

instructions by telephone, proceeded to <strong>the</strong> flood stricken cities <strong>of</strong><br />

Shawneetown, Equality, and Junction, to extend immediate relief to<br />

<strong>the</strong> members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order who might be in need <strong>of</strong> same.<br />

The waters at this time were at <strong>the</strong> highest point ever recorded.<br />

Relief was extended to eleven Bro<strong>the</strong>rs, to <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> $260.00,<br />

full report <strong>of</strong> which was rendered you under date April 15th.<br />

April 17th, you appointed your committee <strong>of</strong> three to continua<br />

work <strong>of</strong> relief after <strong>the</strong> waters had subsided.<br />

This committee immediately organized by electing Henry A. Stone.<br />

P.G.M., as Chairman; H. G. Cormick, P.G. Conductor, Secretary; and<br />

I. C. Abney, P.G., Treasurer.<br />

Following this, you issued your proclamation to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>s in<br />

this jurisdiction, as follows, to-wit:<br />

To <strong>the</strong> Subordinate <strong>Lodge</strong>s I. O. O. F.. State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>:<br />

Bro<strong>the</strong>rs—On account <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> destruction and distress caused by<br />

<strong>the</strong> recent floods, au appeal was made to <strong>the</strong> Fraternity in this State<br />

for aid.<br />

During <strong>the</strong> extreme high waters, although <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Master had<br />

representatives at <strong>the</strong> points <strong>of</strong> greatest danger, <strong>the</strong>re was little <strong>the</strong>y<br />

could do to relieve distress. Now, since <strong>the</strong> waters have receded<br />

somewhat, <strong>the</strong>re must be organized relief, and for that purpose <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Master requests that each <strong>Lodge</strong>, any <strong>of</strong> whose members have<br />

suffered less by reason <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> floods, appoint a committee <strong>of</strong> three to<br />

search out who <strong>the</strong> losers are and how much <strong>the</strong>y have lost and make<br />

a full and complete inquiry into <strong>the</strong> conditions <strong>of</strong> such Bro<strong>the</strong>rs and<br />

Sisters. This committee should be made up <strong>of</strong> enthusiastic and practi-<br />

cal Odd Fellows. It should be appointed immediately.<br />

The <strong>Grand</strong> Master has appointed Past <strong>Grand</strong> Master, Henry A.<br />

Stone, <strong>of</strong> Vandalia, 111., Harry G. Cormick, Past <strong>Grand</strong> Conductor, <strong>of</strong><br />

Centralia. 111., and I. C. Abney. Assistant Chief <strong>of</strong> Examiners and<br />

Instructors, <strong>of</strong> Creal Springs. 111., as a Special Relief Committee.<br />

They will have charge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> disbursement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> relief funds to those<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fraternity who suffered loss from <strong>the</strong> recent calamity. This<br />

organized and will act promptly and justly upon all<br />

committee has .<br />

Without- delay <strong>the</strong> Subordinate <strong>Lodge</strong> Committees and every member<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order who Know <strong>of</strong> want and distress should report <strong>the</strong>
