in <strong>the</strong> minds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> members. Every courtesy and respect due a<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Officer has been extended to me by <strong>the</strong> Brethren and Sisters,<br />

and I desire to thank <strong>the</strong>m and you, and to express my thanks and<br />

appreciation for <strong>the</strong> cordial reception I have received in each and<br />

DEDICATION OF BUILDINGS BY BROTHER DAVIS.<br />

Chicago, October 24, 1913.<br />

Dear Bro<strong>the</strong>r Jennings—Acting under your instructions, on <strong>the</strong><br />

11th day <strong>of</strong> June, 1913, I dedicated <strong>the</strong> Odd Fellows' Temple at Aurora<br />

I was assisted by <strong>the</strong> following Bro<strong>the</strong>rs: W. H. Pease, <strong>Grand</strong> Warden;<br />

Howard Robertson, <strong>Grand</strong> Chaplain; Chas. E. Boyer, <strong>Grand</strong> Marshal:<br />

W. G. Hobbs, <strong>Grand</strong> Herald. The four <strong>Grand</strong> Heralds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> North,<br />

South, East and West were A. B. Shadwick, Fred Strohm, Nelson Foley<br />

and Sven Windrow. The dedication was under <strong>the</strong> able supervision<br />

<strong>of</strong> Bro<strong>the</strong>r H. M. Blood, Chief <strong>of</strong> Instructors.<br />

This is a magnificent Temple and cost $50,000. The large hall<br />

was filled to its complete capacity with interested spectators. The<br />

Temple is a three story building, <strong>of</strong> which <strong>the</strong> two Odd Fellow<br />

<strong>Lodge</strong>s will occupy <strong>the</strong> top floor. They already have a tenant for fifteen<br />

years at $3,000 a year for <strong>the</strong> second floor. The Order in Aurora is<br />

enjoying a wonderful degree <strong>of</strong> prosperity.<br />

FREEPORT.<br />

On Sunday, October 12th, I dedicated <strong>the</strong> Odd Fellows' Temple at<br />

Freeport. I was assisted by <strong>the</strong> following Bro<strong>the</strong>rs:<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Warden ; Bert Giesey<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Chaplain Rev. C. E. Sayer<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Herald Al. Dittman<br />

Herald <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> North W. H. Manchester<br />

Herald <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> South W. Rubendall<br />

Herald <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> East Emil Seard<br />

Herald <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> West George Foss<br />

This is <strong>the</strong> largest temple <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Odd Fellows in our state. It<br />

is four stories high; on <strong>the</strong> main floor <strong>the</strong>re is an auditorium and<br />

balcony, which seats 1,600 people; <strong>the</strong> two lodges <strong>of</strong> Freeport, and <strong>the</strong><br />

o<strong>the</strong>r branches <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order, will occupy <strong>the</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> room, which is
