made by Mr. Conkling that $5,000 be raised for this purpose and that<br />

President Holbrook confer with Secretary Sikes in regard to <strong>the</strong> mat-<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> Constitution.<br />

The following proposed amendments to <strong>the</strong> Constitution <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Independent Order <strong>of</strong> Odd<br />

Fellows, were presented at <strong>the</strong> Session <strong>of</strong> 1912, to be entered on <strong>the</strong><br />

Journal for consideration at <strong>the</strong> 1913 Session:<br />

Original Section.<br />

ROLL CALL.<br />

Questions, How Decided.—Art. VII, Sec. 4.—All questions in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> shall be decided by a majority <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> members present<br />

and voting, excepting upon a call <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>s, when Representatives<br />

only shall vote, and each shall cast <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> votes to which his<br />

<strong>Lodge</strong> may be entitled. A call <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>s may be required by any ten<br />

Representatives, and, whenever <strong>the</strong> vote is taken this way, <strong>the</strong> yeas<br />

and nays shall be recorded.<br />

Proposed Amendment.<br />

Journal 1912, Doc. No. 75.<br />

Amend Section 4, Article VII. <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> Constitution by<br />

striking <strong>the</strong> word ten and inserting <strong>the</strong> word fifty. The section when<br />

amended will read: "A call <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>s may be required by any fifty<br />

Representatives, and whenever <strong>the</strong> vote is taken this way <strong>the</strong> yeas<br />

and nays shall be recorded."<br />

Proposed Amendment.<br />

"THE SENIOR COUNSEL."<br />

To Art VI, Sec. 1, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> Constitution, by adding a<br />

committee to be known as "The Senior Counsel."<br />

Resolved, That Section 1, Art. VI, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> Constitution<br />

be amended by adding sub-section 9 <strong>the</strong>reto, as follows: (9) A Com-<br />
