Endowment Funds by donations and bequests.<br />

Notice received <strong>of</strong> will executed:—Bro<strong>the</strong>r John Collman, 72<br />

years <strong>of</strong> age, a member <strong>of</strong> Walhalla <strong>Lodge</strong> No. 574, <strong>of</strong> Blue Island, has<br />

notified <strong>the</strong> Trustees that he has executed a will in which he be-<br />

quea<strong>the</strong>s to <strong>the</strong> Endowment Funds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Orphans' Home and <strong>the</strong> Old<br />

Folks' Home property valued at approximately $8,000.00. He leaves<br />

certain o<strong>the</strong>r property to his <strong>Lodge</strong> to be used by it for a period <strong>of</strong> 25<br />

years, at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> which time it is to be sold and <strong>the</strong> proceeds to be<br />

placed in <strong>the</strong> Endowment Funds. This worthy Bro<strong>the</strong>r, who has spent<br />

a lifetime in Odd Fellowship, is entitled to great credit for his generous<br />

remembrance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> helpless orphan and <strong>the</strong> helpless aged Bro<strong>the</strong>r<br />

and Sister. He is entitled to <strong>the</strong> thanks <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> and we<br />

recommend that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary be instructed to write Bro<strong>the</strong>r<br />

Collman expressing <strong>the</strong> thanks <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> for his generous<br />

remembrance <strong>of</strong> our two Homes in his will.<br />

I submit herewith <strong>the</strong> report <strong>of</strong> Warren C. Darnall, Deputy <strong>Grand</strong><br />

Master, and W. H. Pease, <strong>Grand</strong> Warden:<br />

Dear <strong>Grand</strong> Master:—At your request I herewith submit a record<br />

<strong>of</strong> such visitations I have made during <strong>the</strong> past year as may properly<br />

be classed as <strong>of</strong>ficial.<br />

Paramount in importance were <strong>the</strong> State Schools <strong>of</strong> Instruction,<br />

all <strong>of</strong> which I attended.<br />

Unlike former Schools, it was determined, at <strong>the</strong> Council <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Officers held in Bloomington early in January, to devote three<br />

days to each School and limit <strong>the</strong> number held.<br />

Full details concerning <strong>the</strong>se Schools will no doubt be fully<br />

explained in <strong>the</strong> report <strong>of</strong> Bro<strong>the</strong>r H. M. Blood, Chief <strong>of</strong> Examiners and<br />

Instructors, and, in order to avoid burdening <strong>the</strong> record with useless<br />

material and repetitions, I will be as brief as circumstances seem to<br />

warrant.<br />

The first School was held in Springfield, beginning January 27th,<br />

and was successful from every viewpoint. The attendance was good<br />

and <strong>the</strong> interest sustained throughout <strong>the</strong> entire three days. Past
