Sec. 3. Should such vacancy occur, by resignation or o<strong>the</strong>rwise,<br />

in any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> elective <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>, not o<strong>the</strong>rwise provided<br />

for. <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Master, or, in his absence, <strong>the</strong> Deputy <strong>Grand</strong><br />

Master, shall appoint a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> to fill such<br />

vacancy until <strong>the</strong> next regular session <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>, and he<br />

shall be entitled to all <strong>the</strong> honors and emoluments <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice, as<br />

though elected by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>.<br />

Sec. 4. Nomination <strong>of</strong> candidates for <strong>Grand</strong> Officers may be made<br />

by any Past <strong>Grand</strong> transmitting <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> any Past <strong>Grand</strong> eligible<br />

for <strong>of</strong>fice to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Master, stating <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice for which he is nominated,<br />

at any time prior to <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> May. The <strong>Grand</strong> Master<br />

shall, immediately after <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> June, transmit to each Past<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> nominated a notice <strong>of</strong> his nomination, requesting his acceptance<br />

or declination <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same; and, if he accepts, he shall furnish <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Master with <strong>the</strong> notice <strong>of</strong> his acceptance and a certificate <strong>of</strong><br />

good standing in his Subordinate <strong>Lodge</strong>; failing to do so, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong><br />

Master shall not place his name on <strong>the</strong> ticket. On <strong>the</strong> first <strong>of</strong> June<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Master shall transmit to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary <strong>the</strong> names <strong>of</strong><br />

all Past <strong>Grand</strong>s who have accepted nominations; and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secre-<br />

tary shall, before July 1st, transmit to <strong>the</strong> several <strong>Lodge</strong>s, toge<strong>the</strong>r<br />

with suitable election blanks, <strong>the</strong> names <strong>of</strong> all <strong>the</strong> nominees who<br />

have accepted <strong>the</strong> nominations, and <strong>the</strong> locations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> respective<br />

<strong>Lodge</strong>s in which <strong>the</strong>y hold membership, stating <strong>the</strong> several <strong>of</strong>fices for<br />

which <strong>the</strong>y were nominated; provided, that no Past <strong>Grand</strong> can accept<br />

<strong>the</strong> nomination or be a candidate for more than one <strong>of</strong>fice at <strong>the</strong> same<br />

time.<br />

Sec. 5. At <strong>the</strong> last regular meeting <strong>of</strong> each Subordinate <strong>Lodge</strong> in<br />

<strong>the</strong> month <strong>of</strong> July, <strong>the</strong> Past <strong>Grand</strong>s in good standing <strong>of</strong> such <strong>Lodge</strong><br />

shall be entitled to vote by ballot for <strong>Grand</strong> Officers. The tellers<br />

shall be furnished by <strong>the</strong> Secretary with a list <strong>of</strong> all Past <strong>Grand</strong>s <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> who are not more than thirteen weeks in arrears for dues,<br />

and no Past <strong>Grand</strong> shall be permitted to vote whose name does not<br />

appear in said list; provided, if any Past <strong>Grand</strong> whose name has been<br />

omitted shall pay his dues so as to make him less than thirteen weeks<br />

in arrears for dues at <strong>the</strong> time, he shall be allowed, on presenting a<br />

receipt to that effect, to have his name added to said list and to cast<br />

his vote. Immediately after <strong>the</strong> reading <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> minutes <strong>the</strong> Noble<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> shall appoint two tellers from among <strong>the</strong> members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>,<br />

and <strong>the</strong>reupon declare <strong>the</strong> ballot open, and <strong>the</strong> same shall remain<br />

open until <strong>the</strong> order <strong>of</strong> business <strong>of</strong> "Good <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order" shall have<br />

been reached, when <strong>the</strong> ballot shall be declared closed; whereupon <strong>the</strong><br />

tellers, assisted by <strong>the</strong> Secretary, and under <strong>the</strong> supervision <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Noble <strong>Grand</strong>, shall count <strong>the</strong> votes in open <strong>Lodge</strong> and announce <strong>the</strong><br />

result, and a record <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong> shall be entered upon <strong>the</strong> minutes. The
