En el caso de los enfermos con FQ, la supervivencia es más elevada a corto y largo plazo, en comparación con<br />

otras enfermedades de base. Así, a los 3 meses del trasplante es del 90%, en comparación con el 76% para la<br />

hipertensión pulmonar, el 85% para la <strong>fibro</strong>sis pulmonar idiopática y el 81% para la EPOC. Esto se debe a que son<br />

más jóvenes y no suelen presentar más comorbilidad asociada relevante (1,2,45-47). Los preliminares del Registro<br />

Español de Trasplante, actualmente en desarrollo, indican que en nuestro medio los enfermos con FQ presentan<br />

una supervivencia superior a la presentada por otros receptores, y cifras de supervivencia superponibles a las del<br />

Registro Internacional (Fig. 5).<br />

CONCLUSIÓN<br />

El TXP debe ser considerado en los enfermos con FQ y enfermedad pulmonar avanzada. En espera de otras alternativas<br />

de tratamiento, el trasplante es la única medida actual capaz de mejorar la calidad de vida y la supervivencia<br />

de estos enfermos.<br />

Si elegimos a los enfermos adecuados y los manejamos de forma óptima antes y después de la intervención, los<br />

resultados del trasplante serán los esperados.<br />
